Getting started with Granola

Granola is an AI notepad that enhances your meeting notes with context from the conversations you have during video calls. After reading this guide, you'll be able to set up Granola and start capturing enriched notes from your meetings.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Granola's website.
  2. Click on the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using your Google account.
  4. Confirm your email through the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Once confirmed, log in to your account and follow the on-screen prompts to complete your profile setup.

Step 2: Your first meeting notes

  1. Join your video call as usual (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
  2. Open Granola in a separate tab or window.
  3. Click on "Start Capturing" in the Granola interface before the meeting begins.
  4. During the meeting, Granola will automatically transcribe everything said.
  5. After the meeting ends, click on "View Notes" to access the enriched notes that include both the transcript and your personal notes.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the "Highlight" feature during the meeting to mark important points as they are discussed. This ensures they stand out in your notes.
  2. After the meeting, you can edit the notes directly in Granola for clarity and organisation.
  3. Explore the "Tags" feature to categorise notes by project or topic, making it easier to retrieve them later.

Pro tip

Set Granola to automatically start capturing in your settings. This way, you won’t forget to initiate the recording for your meetings, saving you time.

Common mistake to avoid

Many users forget to click "Start Capturing" before their meeting begins. Always ensure this step is completed to avoid missing out on important transcripts.
