Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to lex.page.

  3. Enter your email address and create a password, then click "Create Account."
  4. Verify your email if prompted.
  5. Once logged in, familiarise yourself with the minimalist interface.

Step 2: Your first document

  1. On the main dashboard, click the "New Document" button.
  2. A blank document will open. Start typing your content directly in the editor.
  3. To use AI suggestions, highlight a sentence or phrase and click the "AI" button that appears above your selection.
  4. Select a suggestion to replace or enhance your text.
  5. To collaborate, click the "Share" button in the top right corner, enter the email addresses of your collaborators, and set their permissions (view/edit).

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use headings to organise your document by typing # for H1, ## for H2, and so on.
  2. Make use of the comments feature by clicking on any text and selecting "Add Comment" to provide feedback or ask questions.
  3. Regularly save your work by clicking the "Save" icon in the top left corner.
  4. Explore the formatting options in the toolbar to enhance your document’s appearance, such as bold, italics, and bullet points.

Pro tip

Use keyboard shortcuts to speed up your writing process. For example, use Ctrl + B for bold and Ctrl + I for italics. Refer to the shortcuts guide under the "Help" menu for a complete list.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid neglecting to adjust the sharing settings when collaborating. If you forget to set permissions, your collaborators may not be able to edit or view the document as intended. Always double-check before sharing.
