Getting started with Loom AI

In this guide, you’ll learn how to create and share video messages using Loom AI. By the end, you'll be able to record your screen and camera, automatically generate titles and summaries, and share your videos effortlessly.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

1. Go to Loom's website.
2. Click on the Get Started for Free button.
3. Sign up using your email address or connect through Google.
4. Follow the prompts to complete your profile setup.

Step 2: Your first video

1. Once logged in, click on the Record a Video button located at the top right corner.
2. Choose whether to record your Screen, Camera, or Both.
3. Select the specific screen or window you wish to share.
4. Click the Start Recording button.
5. After you finish, click on the Stop Recording button (usually at the bottom right).
6. A new page will open with your video. Here, you can edit the title, add a description, and review the automatically generated summary and action items.

Step 3: Get better results

1. Use the Chapters feature to divide your video into sections. Click on the Chapters tab and add titles at key points in the video.
2. To enhance your video’s visibility, share it on social media or via email using the Share button.
3. Explore the Settings gear icon to adjust video quality and recording preferences for optimal results.

Pro tip

Use keyboard shortcuts while recording: Press Ctrl + Shift + C (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + C (Mac) to quickly pause and resume recording. This saves time if you need to gather your thoughts.

Common mistake to avoid

Many users forget to adjust their microphone settings before recording. Always check your audio input settings by clicking on the microphone icon in the recording interface to ensure your voice is clear.
