Getting started with Textio
In this guide, you'll learn how to use Textio to create more inclusive job postings and performance reviews. By the end, you’ll be able to identify biased language and replace it with more appealing alternatives to attract a diverse range of candidates.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Visit textio.com.
- Click on the "Get Started" button on the homepage.
- Fill out the required fields to create your account. Note that Textio is geared towards enterprise usage, so you may need to contact sales for custom pricing based on your needs.
- Once your account is set up, log in to the dashboard.
Step 2: Your first job posting
- In the dashboard, click on the "Create Job Posting" option.
- Enter the title and description of the job position in the text editor.
- As you type, Textio will analyse your text in real-time. Look for highlighted words or phrases that indicate potential bias.
- Click on the highlighted text to see suggested alternatives. Choose a suggestion that fits your context by clicking on it.
- Once you’re satisfied with your job posting, click the "Save" button to store your draft or "Publish" to make it live.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use the "Score" feature in the right-hand panel to see how inclusive your job posting is. Aim for a higher score to ensure your language is appealing to a broader audience.
- Experiment with different wording by replacing suggested phrases until you find the most effective combination.
- Regularly review your previous postings using the “Analytics” tab to understand what worked and what didn’t over time.
