How to Use Trint

Getting started with Trint

With Trint, you'll be able to transcribe audio and video quickly and collaborate with your team in real-time. This guide will help you set up your account and get your first transcription completed in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Trint's website.
  2. Click on the Get started for free button on the homepage.
  3. Fill in your details or sign up using Google or Microsoft accounts.
  4. Confirm your email address if prompted.
  5. Once logged in, you can explore the dashboard and familiarise yourself with the interface.

Step 2: Your first transcription

  1. In your dashboard, click the Upload button (usually located at the top right).
  2. Select the audio or video file you want to transcribe from your device.
  3. Choose the language of the audio from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click on the Transcribe button.
  5. Wait for the transcription to complete (this usually takes a few minutes).
  6. Once done, click on the file in your dashboard to open it and review the transcription.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the Edit button to correct any mistakes in the transcription.
  2. Take advantage of the Collaboration features by inviting team members via the Share button. They can edit the transcript simultaneously.
  3. Use the Highlight feature to mark important sections for quick reference.
  4. Adjust the Playback Speed using the slider to listen more carefully to difficult sections.

Pro tip

Use keyboard shortcuts to speed up your editing process. For instance, use Ctrl + Z to undo changes and Ctrl + S to save your work quickly.

Common mistake to avoid

Don’t forget to select the correct language before transcribing. If you choose the wrong language, the transcription accuracy will suffer, leading to more errors that you'll need to correct later.
