Getting started with Vidyard

In this guide, you'll learn how to create personalised video messages for your sales outreach using Vidyard. You'll also discover how to analyse the engagement of your videos to improve your sales strategy.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to vidyard.com.
  2. Click on the “Get Started Free” button located on the homepage.
  3. Fill in your details (name, email, password) and click “Create Account”.
  4. Confirm your email address by clicking the link in the confirmation email you receive.
  5. Once logged in, follow the on-screen prompts to set up your profile.

Step 2: Your first video message

  1. From the Vidyard dashboard, click on the “Record” button in the top right corner.
  2. Choose whether to record your screen, webcam, or both.
  3. If recording a webcam video, ensure your camera and microphone are working. Click “Allow” when prompted to grant access.
  4. Click “Start Recording” and deliver your message. Keep it concise and engaging.
  5. After finishing, click “Stop Recording”. You’ll be taken to an editing screen.
  6. Add a title and description, then click “Save Video”.
  7. To share, click the “Share” button, copy the link, or send it directly via email.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the AI-generated scripts feature by selecting “Script” before recording. This will help you stay on track with your messaging.
  2. Experiment with different video lengths; shorter videos (1-2 minutes) often yield better engagement.
  3. Check the analytics by clicking on your video in the dashboard. Review views, watch time, and engagement to refine your approach for future videos.

Pro tip

Use the “Thumbnail” feature before sharing to create an eye-catching preview image. This can significantly improve your open rates.

Common mistake to avoid

Don't forget to test your audio and video settings before recording. A common mistake is diving straight into recording without checking, which can lead to poor-quality videos that don’t engage your audience.
