Getting started with Wudpecker

In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up Wudpecker as your AI meeting assistant, create structured notes for various meeting types, and improve your note-taking efficiency.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to wudpecker.io.
  2. Click on the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using Google or Microsoft.
  4. Confirm your email address via the link sent to your inbox.
  5. Log in to your account, and you’ll see a dashboard with available templates for different meeting types.

Step 2: Your first meeting notes

  1. From the dashboard, click on “Create Meeting” or select a template from the “Templates” section.
  2. Choose the type of meeting (e.g., Standup, Sales Call, One-on-One) that you want to document.
  3. Fill in the meeting details, such as the date, time, and participants.
  4. Start your meeting. During the discussion, Wudpecker will automatically generate notes based on the template you selected.
  5. Once the meeting is over, review the notes and make any necessary edits before saving or sharing them.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Customise your templates by clicking on “Templates” in the menu, then “Edit” on any template you want to modify.
  2. Use bullet points or numbered lists in your discussions to improve note clarity.
  3. Encourage participants to speak clearly and concisely, as this helps Wudpecker capture key points more accurately.
  4. After each meeting, take a few minutes to refine the notes, adding action items or highlights for easy reference later.

Pro tip

Set up recurring meetings directly in Wudpecker by selecting the “Recurring” option when creating a new meeting. This saves time and ensures consistency in your note-taking process.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid trying to multitask during meetings. Focus on the discussion instead of taking notes manually; let Wudpecker handle the note-taking, as this will improve the quality of your notes and your engagement in the meeting.
