How to Use Doodle

Getting started with Doodle

After reading this guide, you'll be able to create and share polls to schedule meetings efficiently, eliminating the need for tedious back-and-forth emails.

Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Go to Doodle's website.
  2. Click on the Sign Up button in the top right corner.
  3. Choose to sign up with your email, Google, or Microsoft account.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete your registration.
  5. Once logged in, you can start using the free basic plan, which includes ads.

Step 2: Your first poll

  1. Click on the Create a Doodle button on your dashboard.
  2. Enter a title for your meeting in the Title field.
  3. Select the dates and times you are considering for the meeting by clicking on the calendar and time slots.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose whether you want to allow participants to select multiple options or just one.
  6. Click Continue again.
  7. Enter the participants’ email addresses in the Invitees field.
  8. Click on Finish to create your poll.
  9. Share the poll link generated with your participants via email or messaging.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Use the Settings option to customise your poll. You can set a deadline for responses or limit the number of selections participants can make.
  2. After participants have voted, visit your poll link to view the results. The time with the most votes will be highlighted for easy selection.
  3. Send a follow-up email to confirm the meeting time once everyone has responded.

Pro tip

Use the "Add time slots" feature to quickly include multiple time options in one go, saving you time on individual entries.

Common mistake to avoid

Avoid creating polls without clearly defined time slots. Make sure to provide a range of options that suit all participants to ensure maximum engagement.
