Getting started with Make
After reading this guide, you'll be able to create automated workflows that connect over 1,500 apps, helping you save time and streamline your tasks.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Go to Make's website.
- Click on the "Sign up free" button in the top right corner.
- Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up using Google or Facebook.
- After verifying your email, log in to your new account.
- Familiarise yourself with the dashboard, where you'll find options to create new scenarios and explore templates.
Step 2: Your first automation
- Click on the “Create a new scenario” button.
- In the scenario builder, click the big plus (+) icon to add your first app.
- Search for the app you want to connect (e.g., Gmail) and select it.
- Choose an action (e.g., "Watch Emails" to trigger on new emails) and configure the settings as needed.
- Click the plus (+) icon again to add another app (e.g., Google Sheets).
- Select an action (e.g., "Create a Row" to add new email data) and configure the fields.
- Once your scenario is set up, click the "Run once" button to test it.
- If everything works as expected, click “Schedule” to set how often you want the automation to run.
Step 3: Get better results
- Use filters to control when actions should proceed. Click on the small wrench icon between modules to add a filter based on specific conditions (e.g., only process emails from a specific sender).
- Experiment with data transformation tools by clicking on the module settings to format or modify the data before it moves to the next step.
- Review existing templates in the “Templates” section on the dashboard for inspiration and quick setups.
