Getting started with Raycast
In this guide, you'll learn how to set up Raycast, a powerful keyboard launcher for your Mac, and start using its AI features and workflow extensions to boost your productivity.Step 1: Sign up and set up
- Visit Raycast's website.
- Click on the "Download" button in the top right corner.
- Open the downloaded file and drag Raycast to your Applications folder.
- Launch Raycast from your Applications.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to create an account or sign in. You can use the free tier to start.
Step 2: Your first search
- Press
Cmd + Spaceto open Raycast. - Start typing the name of an application, file, or command you want to access. For example, type "Safari" to launch the web browser.
- Use the arrow keys to navigate the suggestions and hit
Enterto select. - To access AI features, type "AI" followed by your query (e.g., "AI What’s the weather today?") and hit
Enter.
Step 3: Get better results
- Explore the "Extensions" menu by pressing
Cmd + Spaceand typing "Extensions" to see available integrations (such as Todoist, Notion, etc.). - Install any extensions you frequently use by following the prompts within Raycast.
- Customise your preferences by going to
Cmd + ,(comma) to access the settings. Adjust key bindings and enable or disable extensions based on your needs.
