Step 1: Sign up and set up

  1. Visit Raycast's website.
  2. Click on the "Download" button in the top right corner.
  3. Open the downloaded file and drag Raycast to your Applications folder.
  4. Launch Raycast from your Applications.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to create an account or sign in. You can use the free tier to start.
  1. Press Cmd + Space to open Raycast.
  2. Start typing the name of an application, file, or command you want to access. For example, type "Safari" to launch the web browser.
  3. Use the arrow keys to navigate the suggestions and hit Enter to select.
  4. To access AI features, type "AI" followed by your query (e.g., "AI What’s the weather today?") and hit Enter.

Step 3: Get better results

  1. Explore the "Extensions" menu by pressing Cmd + Space and typing "Extensions" to see available integrations (such as Todoist, Notion, etc.).
  2. Install any extensions you frequently use by following the prompts within Raycast.
  3. Customise your preferences by going to Cmd + , (comma) to access the settings. Adjust key bindings and enable or disable extensions based on your needs.

Take advantage of custom commands by creating your own workflows. In the "Extensions" menu, select "Create Command" to automate repetitive tasks, saving you time on frequent actions.
